The Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (Amended 1999) state that Employers must:

  • Carry out fire risk assessments,
  • Keep formal records if 5 or more people are employed.
  • Ensure that all staff receive instruction and training to ensure they understand the fire precautions in the building where they work and actions to take in the event of a fire.
Course Contents
  • The Triangle of Fire
  • Classification of Fire
  • Actions to be undertaken on discovering a fire
  • How fire spreads
  • Selection of the correct fire extinguisher
  • Practical use of extinguishers (optional)

All practical fire exercises are undertaken utilising environmentally friendly equipment and instruction is provided by fully trained and experienced personnel.

The above 3 hour course is carried out on your premises and an adequate outside area should be available for the practical demonstration of fire extinguishers.
