Oxygen
has been used in clinical practice for more than 200 years and
oxygen therapy is essential in virtually all cases of serious or
potentially serious illness or injury. When used in conjunction with
CPR oxygen can greatly improve the survival and recovery rate of a
casualty. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, also places a
responsibility on Employers to train their staff on the recommended
safeguards relating to products and equipment used in the work
place. In the case of oxygen it is important for staff to understand
the safe usage of and storage of cylinders.
This
course is appropriate for all Health Care Professionals who as part
of their daily activity use or may be called upon to use oxygen to
help in their management of patient care.
This
course is certificated for one year and a course booklet is provided
for later reference.
